About The Film Festival

The Oakmont High School Film Festival was started by the OHS Advanced Media Class. Students wanted a way to showcase there productions. 2011 was the first year and continued annually until the pandemic. Because of students going to online education, the video production classes suffered a downturn in enrollement. In 2021, the decision was to have a student showcase versus a contest and we uploaded all the submitted works for that year. It was a great way to reignite the students and rebuild the cources at Oakmont. In 2022, the intructors in the RJUHSD District took aim at a full district film festival for all students. 2022 and 2023 were very successfull years for the district wide event. RJUHSD Students from all schools were invited to enter the contest, which enabled a variety of productions to get reconigtion.

Unfortunately the RJUHSD Film Festival took a stepbackwards and the Festival will not take place, but the Oakmont Film Festival is fully back.

If you have any questions, ideas and wishes email kbohren@rjuhsd.us (Oakmont Film | Media Teacher)

*Please note that if you are an alumni of the RJUHSD District and a film professional we would love to here your story to share with current students. We are also always looking for possible judges that work in the industry.
